Steel Framing – Termosteel

OSB

The OSB (Oriented Strand Board) is made of layers of wood strands (flakes) in specific orientations, formed by adding phenolic and polyurethane adhesives compressed in high temperatures and pressure. The OSB are structural boards that may be implemented in civil construction, mostly as a diaphragm for Steel Framing structures. Their use is optional in 2-story buildings, yet compulsory in structures of three floors or more.

OSB’s are installed using screws directly fixed on the Steel Framing structure. Using AFG-01 or ASTM-D3498 adhesives offers major structural performance and helps reduce thermal bridges.

This material may be used particularly in the cladding of exterior load-bearing walls, as a crawl space compressing board, or as a material installed before adhering asphalt membranes widely used in LSF systems.
