Steel Framing – Termosteel

MGO board

Made from magnesium oxide, the eco-friendly sulfate MGO boards are a fireproof, non-toxic, and asbestos-free material used for exterior and crawlspace cladding in Steel Framing systems. Their prime waterproofing, plasticity, and fire and corrosion resistance features provide the highest quality compared to drywall or cement boards. The MGO boards do not expand, making it possible to rationalize the use of fillers and hence obtain perfect finishes.

FEATURES

Approved by the National Fire Testing Center (NFTC), MGO boards are considered an A-level material (non-flammable), with properties including absorbed moisture (22 MPa) and dry flex (5 MPa) resistance. Because of its capacity to prevent added heat, this board has a heat resistance of  1.14 km/m².

Additionally, this material has good noise-isolating properties (up to 44 dB and 47 dB), particularly in 95-mm thick walls covered with 10-mm MGO boards.

The MGO boards have a density below 1.0 g/cm³ thanks to their lightness, which makes them resistant to flex-crack and impacts.

Besides being easy to install, which saves time and space, the MGO boards are considered an efficient and eco-friendly material thanks to their natural inorganic composition. Because they do not contain asbestos or methyl alcohol, these boards have low radiation levels and are, therefore, environmentally friendly.
